The course on Structural Dynamics delivers the students with the basic fundamentals and concepts of SDOF and MDOF along with the responses to the mathematical modelling and various loading conditions. The vibration analysis on undamped systems, damped systems, forced undamped systems and free vibrations are elaborated. The orthogonality and normality modes and Decoupling equations of MDOF systems are encountered. The continuous systems, Bernoulli-Euler theorem, Timoshenko Beam theory, Hamilton’s principle and free vibration are explored. Finally the course provides the outline on Seismic Response of structures including SDOF and MDOF. The modal combinations for spectral analyses are covered to elucidate the applications of structural dynamics on Seismic response of structures.
