The Galgotias Centre for Mental Health is organizing a workshop on "Understanding ADHD in Higher Education: Recognition, Support & Referral" as part of the University's commitment to promoting student mental health and creating an inclusive learning environment.
Students are invited to participate in this interactive workshop, which aims to enhance awareness and equip participants with practical, evidence-based strategies to identify and support Inidviduals with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) while maintaining academic standards.
The workshop will cover the following areas:
Understanding the core features of ADHD in adolescents and young adults.Recognising how ADHD presents in academic and classroom settings.Differentiating ADHD from poor motivation, stress, or lack of discipline.Practical classroom strategies to support students with ADHD.
- Identifying when an Individual may benefit from referral for a comprehensive mental health assessment.
The session will include real-world case discussions, evidence-based insights, and practical approaches that Students can readily apply in their classrooms to better support student learning and well-being.
