“Gender, Emotion and Identity: Unlearning Who You Were Told to Be”

by Admin200 ERP Dept. -
Dear  Colleagues,

The Galgotias Centre for Mental Health is pleased to invite you to an engaging and thought-provoking workshop on “Gender, Emotion and Identity: Unlearning Who You Were Told to Be.”

As young adults navigating college life, we are often influenced by family, society, culture, and social expectations that shape how we understand ourselves, express our emotions, and perceive others. This workshop aims to create a safe and reflective space for students to explore the connection between gender, emotions, identity, and societal expectations.

The workshop will cover the areas:

  • Explore how gender and social expectations influence our thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.
  • Understand the role of emotions in shaping personal identity and relationships.
  • Reflect on the identities and beliefs that we may have inherited or been expected to follow.
  • Develop greater self-awareness and emotional understanding.
  • Encourage acceptance, empathy, and respect for diverse identities and experiences.
  • Reflect on the importance of unlearning limiting beliefs and developing an authentic sense of self.

The workshop will include interactive discussions, reflections, and insights designed to encourage students to question societal assumptions and better understand themselves and those around them.
